Shone and sang with the sea,

Loud as the sound of a lonely wing

Faint and unheard, like that old man,

Rose alone in a mist of tears;

Black hair were with a bird's distress,

Pale as a moonless face and coral;

Blue as the nights of home and place,

Sweet with a mist that has no shade.
